Nearby attractions and activities:
As you can imagine, with 2000 years of history, there are many fascinating places to visit, such as York Minster, the Jorvik Viking centre, the National Railway Museum, and the Castle Museum. Or you can take a walk back in time down the Shambles and Stonegate or around the city walls. As well as the historical loveliness of the city, York is fast becoming one of the top shopping centres in the north of England with great city centre shops and out -of-town designer outlets. There are also year-round festivals and, of course, the world famous York racecourse.
Take a boat trip on the river Ouse which runs through the heart of the city. We are well placed for many interesting attractions within a short drive from York; Herriot country, Heartbeat country, Castle Howard, Fountains Abbey and the North York Moors to name but a few.
